Jim Stahlmann will share a multigenerational North St. Paul family story that centers on a longtime residence at “1st & 1st.” His family’s roots run deep in the community, with family members who have served as mayor, fire chief, city council member, mortician, and more. The presentation also touches on a poignant chapter in the 1940s, when a tragic train accident occurred near the spot where the snowman stands today. Member meetings are free and open to everyone, and we’d love to have you join us. The doors will open at 6:30PM and the presentation will begin at 7PM. Coffee and pecan bars will be served.
Doors open at 5PM and the event itself is from 8-9PM. Fifty years ago, a time capsule was filled, then buried underground. It is finally time to open it! Join us at the North Saint Paul Historical Society and North Star Museum of Boy Scouting & Girl Scouting for a joint event where our museums display the Bicentennial Capsule's contents. To make the occasion even more memorable, we’re turning the block into a full‐on 1970s celebration. Enjoy live music from the Rockin’ Hollywoods playing classic throwbacks, a ‘70s costume contest judged by local business owners, food trucks, street dancing, and plenty of small‐town fun and nostalgia.
